I know that house wiring was changed in the 60s to switch bedroom lamps from the ceiling to a receptacle. IMHO a Bad move. Now I'm faced with rewiring 3 bedrooms (new old house) to make the bedroom wall switchs into doubles, one for fan, other for the light on the fan. Without looking closely I think I can assume that the cable from the switch is a standard 3-wire (hot, neutral, ground) so I'll need to replace it. I'm looking for advice on how to replace that cable _without_ tearing huge holes in the drywall. Anyone?
